Justin Timberlake Drops Hint on Britney Spears Memoir
Justin Timberlake seemingly commented on Britney Spears’ book, “The Woman in Me”, before performing his 2002 hit, “Cry Me a River”.
The 41-year-old pop star was entertaining an A-list crowd – which included his wife, Jessica Biel – at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas, Nevada last week before he said “No disrespect” as he started singing the two-decade old break-up ballad.
The track itself, which talks about infidelity, received flack in Spears’ memoir as she claimed “no one would take my side” after the music video dropped, which featured an actress who bore a striking resemblance to her.
“I don’t think Justin realised the power he had in shaming me. I don’t think he understands to this day,” the 42-year-old “Toxic” hitmaker explains in her book.
The two pop musicians started dating in late 1999, but broke it off suddenly in March 2002. No explanation was given at the time, but whispers of cheating have floated around ever since.
